You can try removing it from the hub and reading that particular email account.

Goran - what do you mean by 'reading that particular email account.'?
I deleted the email and tried to re-install but it says it can't authenticate. Now I have my non gmail email set up in the gmail app - and I don't want that. Things are quite screwed up now. Very frustrated - can you help?

If it said the password was wrong then you might have entered a wrong password. I would suggest you try to change the password again.

Except the password is 100% correct as I can log in on other devices with it.

What email was it? some email providers (like outlook.com) require extra authentication before you can sync or use a different password generated by them.
Also make sure you setup all the parameter correctly.. that should be showed in their email instruction.

Sorry that was an autocorrect issue. So it's a Gmail account that won't authenticate? You can try reinstalling the hub on your phone and seeing if that'll fix it. Do you have two factor authentication going as well? Have you tried manually setup? Should be an option.

Maybe this will help:

I'd suggest looking around crackberry further too if that doesn't help.

Yahoo mail actually required user to have a different password if they use 2 step verification or account key https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN15241.html
So if you enable 2 step authentication or "account key", you would need to generate a different password within yahoo settings.
